Experience
I obtained my B.S. in chemistry and my B.A. in biology at the University of California, Berkeley. Science and math have always been two of my strongest suits. Following graduation, I ventured off to France where I worked as a tutor for students in middle and high school. I also have volunteered a fair amount of my time performing services at the local hospital. Recently, I have been busy applying to medical school. When it comes to my tutoring style, I strongly believe that students need to stay engaged in order to become successful in what they are being taught. Engaging students can come in many forms, whether it be getting them excited about the material being taught or simply getting them interested in the material. I have had many students tell me that they have learned more in one session with me than they have learned in an entire week of school. To hear those words come out of a student's mouth is rewarding and puts a smile on my face. While tutoring, no question is a stupid question. A student should never be shy or embarrassed to ask for clarification on something they are not understanding. I want my students to feel like they are in a safe place when they are working with me. I also want them to be comfortable with being an active participant in the learning process. When I am not teaching, my time is spent making music on either the guitar or violin. I also love being in the kitchen and trying out all different types of recipes.
